About Candice

Candice L Davis is a writer of fiction and non-fiction. She works with traditional publishers and has embraced indie publishing as a new arena of opportunity for writers.

In 2004, Candice was awarded a PEN Emerging Voices fellowship. She’s had the honor and privilege of studying with Barbara DeMarco-Barrett, author of Pen on Fire and host of KUCI’s Writers on Writing, and Mary Rakow, award-winning author of The Memory Room. Candice was also mentored by Janet Fitch, author of White Oleander and Paint it Black.

Candice’s short stories have appeared in various journals, including descant, Obsidian III, CALYX, and Writer’s Post Journal. She’s currently serving as writer for Top Chef star Antonia Lofaso’s cookbook, and is at different stages on several works of fiction.

Candice is passionate about reading across genres, being a homeschooling mom, and spreading the good news about real foods and their power to positively impact beauty, energy, and waistlines.
